Those who attend a correctional facility are not mandated to receive vaccinations, but should contact the TN State Health Department for more information. In general, children in the following state-owned or operated facilities may receive vaccinations that are required for them: Child Care Resource Centers, day care centers, preschools, school and college student groups for a maximum of six people, and/or other groups within a correctional facility for a maximum of six people. Those who visit a public park, golf course, city park, playground, etc., are also not required to receive vaccinations. Some medical exemptions are allowed for those who are pregnant or have certain medical conditions, such as an allergic reaction to a vaccine. Some individuals with a medical reason to obtain a medical exemption can also obtain an refused vaccine exemption which is valid for 30 days.
